Demonic fetus ghost babies wreak havoc in YIN ZHONG (1984 - Japan - Horror/Gore/Mystery/Thriller) with the help of oatmeal faced zombies

Also titled DEVIL FETUS 2: THE RAPE AFTER, to clear things up this is not a porno ridden Cat III film, and the title is what it is for exploitation purposes.

A young model goes home with the director of the commercial she is shooting, they get drunk on champagne, and both pass out. While she sleeps, a statue of an evil looking imp the director stole from set, comes to life after having the seal of a scroll broken, and the incubus has it's way with her. Soon she is pregnant, and winds up burned alive in a car accident. When the autopsy surgeon notices her charred pregnant belly is still moving, he starts cutting and investigating, only to be pulled into the corpses stomach, and have his head chewed off by the vicious and demonic undead offspring.

It turns out the statue contained the ashes of an aborted fetus, which was then used to try and cure an antique dealer of asthma. Now the commercial director is getting married to the antique dealer's daughter, and the curse is spinning out of control.

YIN ZHONG is almost impossible to write a synopsis due to it being completely batshit crazy. With heavy nods to Larry Cohen's IT'S ALIVE, this Chinese freakout flick from 1984 is washed in the blue night look so prevalent in that decade (used to perfection by Joe Dante in THE HOWLING) and slathered in Lucio Fulci-isms, in particular the staring zombies that seem to be able to invade their victims psyches, ala CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD. it's a goofy and fun ride through a charnel house of cartoony but effective, and at times truly creepy, atmosphere and graphic violence. The editing, also highly evocative of Fulci's films, is disjointed and awkward, which lends itself nicely to the nightmare logic of the proceedings. These aren't films designed to make sense, with a solid narrative structure, these are roller coaster rides where people lose limbs and heads, and demons cackle. Get on board, or don't. Highly recommended for fans of 80's style dark and twisted horror.

i watched an old laserdisc copy of this, but I've read there is a VHS floating around with soem extended gore, sans any English subtitles. I'll be hunting that one down eventually, but still hoping for a proper release.
